Sustainable leadership.

Unleash durable business success

Based on insights from decades of interactions with business leaders and knowledge from leadership theories and research, we claim that building durable businesses require leaders that on top of their experience and expertise, have certain traits.
We have developed processes to help you identify these leaders and tools to assess and develop them.

The Alumni Sustainable Leadership Model

In the pursuit of cultivating exceptional leaders who can navigate the challenges of a rapidly changing world, we firmly believe that four fundamental behaviours play a pivotal role: humanity, agility, authenticity, and an unwavering drive for growth. We recognise that successful leaders possess a blend of these essential traits, each influencing the other.

Alumni has developed a unique model for evaluating sustainable leadership levels. Our model examines the combination of different behaviours, which ensures a holistic assessment that charters for a comprehensive map of sustainable leadership potential.

To identify the essential traits that will ensure the behaviours, we use tests based on verified science and the latest research in work psychology.

The Power of Humanity in Leadership

Leaders who embrace humanity exhibit empathy, compassion, and a genuine concern for the well-being of their teams and communities. They recognise the unique strengths of each individual, valuing diversity and inclusion. Such leaders create a supportive environment, fostering trust and loyalty among team members. The ability to understand the human aspect of leadership lays the foundation for sustainable growth and prosperity.

Authenticity: The Core of Enduring Leadership

Authentic leaders remain true to themselves, their values, and their purpose. By displaying transparency and genuine character, they inspire trust and loyalty in their teams. Their ability to communicate openly and honestly fosters an environment where people feel safe to express ideas and concerns. Authenticity acts as a beacon of light, guiding the way to sustainable leadership and cohesive teams.

Navigating with Agility

In today's fast-paced and dynamic world, adaptability and quick decision-making are essential for leaders. Agile leaders possess the capacity to embrace change, adjust strategies rapidly, and identify opportunities even in uncertain situations. Their willingness to evolve and learn from failures sets them apart as they lead their organisations through complex challenges and ever-changing landscapes.

Relentless Drive for Growth

A hunger for growth and continuous improvement is an indispensable trait of successful leaders. Such individuals not only seek personal and professional development but also encourage growth in their team members. They set ambitious goals, embrace innovation, and view challenges as opportunities for progress. This relentless pursuit of growth fosters a culture of excellence that cascades throughout the organisation.

Sustainable Leadership Assessment

The Sustainable Leadership Assessment tool provides a sustainable leadership score for the individual, on a scale from 1 to 10 (where 10 is the highest possible score).

To calculate the score, we use two assessment methods; Big Five personality test MAP and analytical ability test Matrigma. For a more thorough evaluation a person’s disposition for sustainable leadership we add a third tool, the Alumni’s Sustainable Leadership competency-based interview questions. These are selected because they have a proven ability to measure different key characteristics connected to sustainable leadership and future potential/natural tendencies.

By synthesizing these measures in a standardised way where each measure has a predefined weight, we decrease the risk of bias and subjectivity in our leadership assessments.
